Johnson was an outdoorsman, and a lover of all animals wild or tamed. Johnson was also an accomplished carpenter and woodworker.

FARMER DROPS DEAD AT 8 A.M.
Heart Disease is Fatal to Johnson T. Miller, 71, Near Walnut Corner.
Johnson T. Miller, 71, dropped dead at 8 A.M. yesterday in a hog pen on his farm near Walnut Corner in Greene township. Dr. George L. Perry county coroner, investigated and returned a verdict of death due to heart disease.
Mr. Miller was born in West Virginia on April 22, 1863, the son of Isaac T. and Amelia (Cowger) Miller. He was married to Rebecca J. Shaver, who survives, on February 18, 1886. The couple had lived on the farm where Mr. Miller died for the past eight years.
Surviving children are Ruby, wife of Lynn Watkins of near Bryant; Emory Miller of Muskegon, Mich.; Edith, wife of Clarence Follman of Detroit; Mildred, wife of Orlo Longerbone of near Pennville; Herschel Miller of Grand Rapids, Mich.; One son and one daughter are deceased. There are seven grandchildren; ( Duane and Rebecca Watkins, Dale and Naomi Longerbone, Herschel Jr. Stewart and Marion (Ikey) Miller) and the following half brothers and half sisters; William Miller of Marion; Rebecca, wife of Lewis Miller of Como; Harry and Robert Miller, Martha, wife of Hugh Miller, and Emma, wife of Boyden Lee, all of Winchester.
The body was removed to the Williamson Shadow Lawn funeral home, prepared for burial and was returned to the Miller home last night.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1 P.M. at the Hickory Grove Church of the Brethren south of Pennville. Rev. D.M. Byerly of near Bluffton will officiate, Burial in the Maxville cemetery east of Farmland.

I was truely glad too hear from you Well I must tell you we have another hired girl She is a very nice and pleasant looking girl I hope you and the widower have a nice time I won't be there to bother him you and him can share all the fun you want Well I must tell you how sleepy I was last Monday morning I was so sleepy that I could not see strate all day I came verry near going too sleep while working for you know that I am lazy at any time Well I must close for this time I will write more the next time

Dear friend I seat myself to drop you a few lines to inform you that I am well hoping those few lines may find you well and doing well Oh yes I must tell you it was very near four oclock in the morning when I got home you bet I was sleepy the next day I had to get up early to help Luther Williams butcher The people said I looked like I was sent for and could not go so you may know about how I looked you know that I am not use to loosing sleep that is the reason it maid me look so bad you know becca that good little boys like me are not use to loosing sleep becca I hope you will enjoy your self and not get lonesome untill I see you I guess if I would have to stay out there in them frog ponds I would get lonesome myself Well Becca I must close for this time please excuse bad penning I am looking to hear from you soon
