Lucy was born to Thomas Barnes (1757-1827) in Connecticut. She married James Pierce/Pearce on 4 Mar 1824. In 1850 and 1855, Lucy and James resided in Syracuse, Onondaga, NY. Lucy and James Pierce had four children: Charles N. Pierce (1825-1826), Maria Eliza Pierce (1826-1911), Frances M. Pierce (1833-1837) and James Oscar Pierce 1836-1907). On 5 Nov 1857, after the death of Lucy, James married Joanna Polley. James Pierce died in Hastings, Nebraska on 5 Aug 1874 when traveling by train between Colorado Springs, Colorado and Horicon, Wisconsin. The Barnes family owned or operated Hardware Stores in Horicon, Dodge County, Wisconsin and in Colorado Springs, El Paso County, Colorado. Daughter Maria Eliza Pierce married Gerrit Smith Barnes who served as Mayor of Colorado Spring shortly before the end of the 19th Century. Memorial # for Maria Eliza Pierce in 68328429.
