Funeral services for Jackie Askea, age 78 of Cullman, will be at 3:00 PM on Thursday, July 23, 2015 at Cullman Heritage Funeral Home Chapel with Tim McCormick and Wayne Cook officiating. Interment will be in Cullman City Cemetery.
Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Askea went to join the Lord on Monday, July 20, 2015. She was born May 8, 1937 to the late Ernie Clyde and Elsie Estelle Couch Cook. She was a homemaker.
She is preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Dale Wayne Cook; a sister, Sybelene Cook Jackson; her beloved husband of 54 years, Orvis Elwyn Askea; and a daughter, Lisa Renee Askea Fuller.
Survivors include Larry Steven “Steve” Askea and wife Ann, Sherry Askea Shroyer and husband Lynn and daughter of her heart, Terri Dunn Gilbert; a brother, Sonny Cook and wife, Ruth; five grandchildren, Eric Collins Askea and wife Lyndsie, Michael Shane Anderson and Robin, Tonya Askea Stephens and husband Brian, Lindsay Fuller Lawrence and husband Kolby and Nathaniel Boyd Shroyer and Jessica; twelve great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other family members and friends.
Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
