Mrs. Doris Lorene Batts, 83, of Lebanon, passed away Monday, July 20, 2015, at her home, while surrounded by her loving family. She was born Nov. 15, 1931, in Lebanon, the daughter of the now late Buren Ivan and Violet Olive (Bollinger) Clossin.

A lifelong resident of Lebanon, Doris graduated from Lebanon High School in 1950.

On Oct. 23, 1950, she was married to Orville Victor Batts Jr. in Lebanon. He passed away Dec. 19, 2007.
Doris went to work at Commercial Filters in 1979, and retired from there in 1996.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed her family, camping, traveling the United States, and playing Yahtzee with Bonnie.

Survivors include five children, Gary L.(Cindy) Batts, Larry L. (Linda) Batts and David A. (Andrea) Batts, all of Lebanon, Vicki L.(partner, Dena Carnes) Batts of St. Johns, Mich., and Leah A. (Al) Harker of Monticello; 14 grandchildren, Ryan Batts and Amanda Burcham, of Lebanon, Allison Batts of Dallas, Texas, Adriane Batts, Michelle (Brad) Mateika, Melody Batts, Adam Batts and Michael (Emily) Nance, of Lebanon, Aron Batts of Pittsboro, Matthew Nance of Indianapolis, Drew (Kristin) Batts of Lebanon, Nick (Karyn) Harker of Ann Arbor, Mich., Troy (Anne) Harker of Scituate, Mass., and Blake Harker of Monticello; nine great-grandchildren, Riley Burcham, Cameron Burcham, Katherine Mateika, Brandon Mateika, Leighton Batts, Easton Nance and Harper Nance, of Lebanon, Zachary Harker of Scituate and Harrison Harker of Ann Arbor; brother, Robert E. “Bob” (Diana) Clossin of Maricopa, Ariz.; and sister-in-law, Mary Jane Clossin of Lebanon.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents and her husband; two brothers, Marvin E. Clossin and Charles O. Clossin; and a sister-in-law, May Clossin.

Private visitation and private funeral services will be held this Thursday at Myers Mortuary, 1502 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon. Interment will be in Lincoln Memory Gardens in Boone County.
