Thomas Hugh "Tom" DeLaureal, Jr., 68, died Monday, July 20, 2015, in his residence, with his loving family at his side.

Born to Dr. Thomas H. DeLaureal, Sr. and Laurita Kate Evans DeLaureal, Tom was a lifelong resident of Lake Charles. He was a 1965 graduate of Lake Charles High School and attended Louisiana State University. He served his country in the U. S. Army in Vietnam from 1969 until 1971. Tom lived a lifetime of service and worked for the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office for thirty years, retiring as Civil Commander in 2008. He was a faithful member of St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus and A.C.T.S. Tom was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife; three daughters; one stepson; one stepdaughter; one sister; one brother and ten grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Dr. and Mrs. T. H. DeLaureal, Sr.

A mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 24, 2015, at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Father Keith Pellerin will officiate. Interment will be at Consolata Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday from 5 until 9 p.m., with a rosary being recited at 6:30 p.m., and will resume on Friday from 8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m.

The family would like to express their grateful appreciation for the compassionate care given Tom during his illness to the doctors, nurses and staff of M.D. Anderson Hospital.
