Beverly Jo Blackwood Watson died on July 19, 2015 at the age of 77.

Born in Fort Worth, TX, attended high school in Port Arthur, TX, graduated from University of Houston in 1960 with a B. S. in pharmacy. Worked as a registered pharmacist for 48 years, in both hospital and drugstore settings. Moved to Asheville, NC in 1987 and made it her home.

She established an endowed scholarship at UNCA in memory of her parents, H. W. and Cleta Blackwood. She was a former member of the Lion's Club, a volunteer driver for Council on Aging, and has volunteered as a driver for Low Vision Center for about 15 years.

She is survived by two children, Gregg E. Watson of Asheville and Carey E. Watson of Portland, ME; and by her beloved friend and companion, Howard T. Cox of Weaverville.

At her request there will be no services. Memorials may be made to her favorite charities: Eliada Home or Eblen Charities, both of Asheville.
