BLUE MOUND SUN - NOVEMBER 3, 1921

MRS. S. P. MONTGOMERY

Mary Nasalroad was born in Virginia, February 22, 1842, and died at Blue Mound, Kansas, October 29th, 1921, aged 79 years 8 months and 7 days.

With her parents she came to Illinois when a girl, from there a little later moving to Iowa. She was married in Iowa in 1858 to George Coffelt. To this marriage seven children, four boys and three girls were born. Four of the children, three boys and one girl, are living. They moved to Uniontown, Kansas in 1867 and to Blue Mound in 1886. Being left a widow shortly after moving to Blue Mound, she was married at Ft. Scott in April 1892, to S. P. Montgomery, a widower, father of seven children, two of whom with the husband and father survive. She was an old resident of Blue Mound, living here continually since 1892.

She was a member of the Baptist Church from the time she was a girl. She was a faithful member, one who never missed prayer meeting and could be depended upon in other activities as long as she was able to go. She became a member of the Federated Church at the time of the federation six years ago. She now has been transferred from the church militant to the church triumphant.

Funeral services were conducted at the Federated Church Sunday afternoon at 3:30, by Rev. W. M. Randles and burial was in the Blue Mound Cemetery.
