Daughter of William George Haun and his first wife, Catherine Edmondston. Her father lived in Georgia for a time but returned to Kentucky with Pauline when she was a child. William moved his family to Clinton County, IA and later Marysville, CA. She married her father's cousin on 7 April 1858. Pauline returned to Clinton County, IA with her husband about 1864.
