George Beauregard Hocker (see Chapter 8c2d2f7) was born the 31st of August 1861 in Ohio County, Kentucky and according to the 1880 Ohio County, Kentucky census was attending school.

George Beauregard Hocker was named by his father after the south’s civil war General Beauregard.

George Beauregard Hocker migrated with his brother Nicholas Hocker to Sangamon County, Illinois in the early 1880’s.

George Beauregard married Sarah Lavina “Vina” Leapley1 the 1st of November 1888 in Sangamon County, Illinois.

Sarah Lavina was born in May 1867 in Sangamon County, Illinois the daughter of Henry Clay Leapley (born January 1829 Hamshire County, Virginia, died July 1911 Adams County, Illinois) and Clarissa C Hughes (born 16 October 1830 Adams County, Illinois, died 11 October 1903 Adams County, Illinois) who married the 30th of September 1850 in Adams County, Illinois.

Leapley is spelled Lieblich in German.

Sarah Lavina and George Beauregard Hocker had five children, all born in Sangamon County, Illinois. For information about their children. The 1900 index shows George Beauregard Hocker and Sarah Lavina with their first four children living in Williams Township, Sangamon County, Illinois.

According to the 1910 Missouri index we find them with all of their children except their eldest, who remained in Sangamon County, Illinois, living in Marion County, Missouri.

Finally they migrated to Oklahoma with four of their children. The 1930 Tulsa County, Oklahoma census shows Sarah Lavina living by herself. George Beauregard Hocker died the 12th of February 1936 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
