Princess Mary Tognotti Fahey Bay St. Louis, MS Princess T. Fahey of Bay St Louis passed away peacefully Thursday, July 16, 2015, in Bay St. Louis, MS. She was born to the late Joseph A. and Rita M. Tognotti in Pearlington, Mississisppi. She attended Bay High and married the late Edmond F. Fahey, Jr. on July 13th, 1941. She and "Junior Fahey" had one son, Edmond F. Fahey, III. During those years she helped her husband and his family at the Fahey Funeral Home and the Fahey Drug Store while raising their son. After the early death of her husband Princess worked at The Hancock Bank in Gulfport spending many happy years serving bank customers before retiring. After hurricane Camille in 1969 Princess opened The Princess Dress Shoppe in the Bay where she and her daughter-in-law operated a successful business along with their talented staff for nearly 30 years. During those years Princess, Jane Ann and with the help of Eleanor Rogers formed a Teen Board for the young women on the Coast. In 1991 her shop was awarded "Business of the Year" by the Hancock Chamber of Commerce. The Teen Board was awarded The Best Teenboard of the Year" by Seventeen Magazine and in 1998 Princess was awarded "Citizen of the Year" by the Hancock Chamber of Commerce. She was truly a community leader. In 1975 Princess and Edmond re-established The Edmond Fahey Funeral Home, a family tradition for 3 generations. Princess was an active member in the Main Street United Methodist Church, The Hancock Chamber of Commerce, The Bay Waveland Yacht Club, The Great Southern Club, The Hancock Historical Society, The Rotary Club (first female member in this chapter). She was one of the founding members of the Altrusa Club in Hancock County, a member of the Lions Club, American Legion Woman's Auxillary Post 152, Daughters of the American Revolution, R.S.V.P. and the OGR, NSM, NFDA Funeral Associations. Princess loved to travel and experienced many far away places with her cherished friends. Princess is survived by her care givers and life lines, Jeanne Sampognaro and Mary Lou Malone, Andrea Sheridan as well as her Funeral Home Family, Jeanne & Vince Sampognaro, Mary Lou Malone, Bryan Malone, Brent Adkins, Bryan Peek, Bill Donaldson, Shellie Maughan, Tommy Carver, Arnie Gibson, Mary "Izzy" Coster and Louise Beal; many others, Jane Ann & John Gleeson; Lisette Lautenschalaeger Verlander, Lester J. Lautenschalaeger and Hilah McLean Skewes, Candace Strahan; Fahey House, Leo diBenedetto, Maria Wolfe, George diBenedetto, Lisa diBenedetto, Patricia diBenedetto, Anna Caffarel, Diane Landry, and her dear friend, Helen Mestayer. The visitation will be on Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at Edmond Fahey Funeral Home in Bay St. Louis, MS from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 pm. The Funeral Home will be open from 8:00 am on Wednesday, July 22, 2015 until the 12:00 noon Service Time. Entombment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery in Bay St. Louis, MS. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital , 332 North Lauderdale, Memphis, TN 38105 in her name or a charity of ones choice. Special thanks for the wonderful care given by Dr. Irene Koskan and her staff over the years.
