Catherine Gene Swink Phillips, 74, of Taylorsville, died March 19, 2004 Frye Regional Medical Center after a period of declining health.
Born Jan. 29, 1930, in Burke County, she was a daughter of the late Gene and Belle Carswell Swink.
She attended Pentecostal Holiness Church. She was a pre-finisher of cloth and retired from Unifour Finishing.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Phillips, Sr., who died in 1990, three brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law; a son; two stepdaughters; a stepson; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; four step grandchildren; a sister; and a brother.
The funeral was at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 24, 2004, at Poplar Springs Baptist Church in Taylorsville. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery.
