George was the first child born to Henry Monroe and Margaret Angeline Collins Redifer. They were married January 13, 1868 in Churchville, Augusta County, Virginia. George was born nine months and one day later.
George was the first of fourteen children ,eleven boys and three girls.
George was a candy maker in Chicago at the time of his death. Ella May, his wife lived to be one hundred two years old, she died in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where she was residing with their son Clayton Redifer.
Ella May and George married January 22, 1902 in Chicago.
