Cleo A. Addickes

Cleo A. Adickes, 87, of Platteville, died Tuesday, Sept. 15, 1998, at Gray's Nursing Home in Platteville. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, at the Westview Methodist Church in Platteville. Burial will be in the Whig Cemetery, rural Platteville. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Bendorf Funeral Home in Platteville and after 10 a.m. Saturday at the church.

Mrs. Adickes was born Aug. 14, 1911, in Platteville, the daughter of Neil A. and Minnie E. (Baker) Clements. She lived in Ellenboro Township until the age of four and then in Platteville township.

On June 19, 1946, she was married to Arthur E. Adickes in Platteville. He died Nov. 14, 1982. She taught at the British School, rural Platteville, for 12 years. She and Art farmed near Belmont for a time and then in 1953, they started farming north of Platteville. Mrs. Adickes moved into Platteville following her husband's death.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceeded in death by two brothers, Leonard and Wilbert Clements. She is survived by several nieces and nephews.
