He had served two tours of duty as an adviser to the Mississippi National Guard, was a 32nd-degree Mason, a Shriner, a member of First United Methodist Church and a longtime member of Natc hez Trace Golf Club, which he managed from 1973 to 1979.
Mr. Harper, the husband of Jean Harper, also leaves a daughter, Kayla Harper of Richland, Wash.; a son, H. Cliff Harper of Houston, Texas; a sister, Claudia Ralls of Orange Park, Fla., and two grandchildren.
