February 9, 1980 - Storm Lake Register - Pioneer and longtime resident of Storm Lake, Mrs. Maude Daniels, passed away at the Buena Vista Manor Wednesday, Feb. 6, at the age of 101.

Mrs. Daniels was born in Storm Lake on Oct. 28, 1878. Her father, L. Gyde Malbone, was a bricklayer and built the Malbone hospital in 1912. She was a lifelong member of the Lakeside Presbyterian church, a member of the B.V. chapter of D.A.R. and Buena Vista Historical Society and had served as regent of the local chapter of Rebekah Lodge.

Services were today, Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Hughes-Nelson Funeral Home. The Rev. Duane Queen officiated. Burial was in the Storm Lake cemetery.

She is survived by a son, Glen Daniels of Storm Lake; two daughters and husbands, Margaret and Joe Kavane of Milford, Ruth and Vernon Bierman of Cherokee; and daughter-in-law, Wanda Daniels of Storm Lake; four grandchildren, Dick Bierman of Cherokee, Jack Bierman of Washington, DC, Tom Daniels of Storm Lake, and Sue Jewell of Minneapolis, Minn., and six great grandchildren.
