Charles Richard Davis, age 78 of Claridon Township, passed away Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at UH Geauga Medical Center. He was born on August 19, 1936 in Cuyahoga Falls, son of the late John and Muriel Davis. He was a graduate of Chardon High School, and went to a trade school. Charles married Helen P. Bair in 1958 and moved to Claridon Township coming from Akron/Cuyahoga Falls. He was a service manager at Farinacci Buick Dealership 39 years and retired from Spear Chrysler Service Center in 1998. He restored antique cars; enjoyed going to car shows and camping with his friends and family. On vacation they traveled to almost all the states. He especially enjoyed Florida; vacations to the ocean; and taking cruises. He also enjoyed Sunday drives to Amish country.
He will be missed by his friends and family; his beloved wife Helen Davis; his daughters, Dee Dee (Jeff Jeavons) Davis of Windsor and Heidi (Steve) Eland of Middlefield; two grandchildren, Danny Woodcock of Toledo and Rusty Davis of Akron; his sisters, Bette (Dale) Ernst of Chardon and Virginia (Joe) Toth of West Farmington and his brother-in-law Gordon Doble. He is preceded in death by his son Charles "Red" Davis in 2008; his parents; and his sister Carol Doble.
A Celebration of Life will be held 1:00 pm Saturday, July 11, 2015 at Russell-Sly Family Funeral Home, 15670 West High St., Middlefield, OH 44062. Visitation will be Saturday, 11:00 am until the service time at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Claridon Center Cemetery.
