DODD CITY

Funeral services for Mrs. Vivian Grace Mills Hasten, age 86, of Dodd City, were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Novmeber 25, 2000 in Wise Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Roy Burpo, Pastor of Lannius Church of God, officiated. Burial followed in Dodd City Cemetery.

Mrs. Hasten passed away Thursday night, November 23, 2000 at Northeast Medical Center in Bonham.

Mrs. Hasten was born August 15, 1914 in Ivanhoe, Texas, the daughter of Alphord Taylor Walker and Ioma Bethel Walker.

She married Jimmie Dude Mills, May 27, 1936, and he preceded her in death on April 26, 1964.

She later married Glenn Hasten who also preceded her in death.

In 1959, she became part owner of the H&M Grocery Store in Dodd City which she operated for the next 17 years. Mrs. Hasten was a homemaker and a member of the United Methodist Church in Dodd City. She had resided in Bonham Nursing Center for the past several years.

She was preceded in death by two sons, J. D. Mills and Charles Mills, and one brother, R. D. Walker.

Surviving are two sons, Johnnie L. Mills and Bruce Mills, both of Dodd City; two step-sons, Glenn Hasten and Craig Hasten; one step-daughter, Deanna Ritter; two sisters, Betty M. Dudley and Tennie B. Lambert; three brothers, Cleon Walker, Charlie Walker and Aultie Lee Walker; 11 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

The family received friends at Wise Funeral Home from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday night, November 24, 2000.
