Born in Hershey on December 23, 1943, he was the son of the late Warren Shetter and Romaine Mark Shetter Atticks.
John was an aircraft mechanic for Bell Helicopter in Texas and Kansas, and was a truck driver for Verdelli Farms, Hummelstown. John was an U. S. Marine Corps veteran. He was a former member of American Legion Post 265, Hummelstown. John was preceded in death by a son, David Charles Shetter.
