Kenneth K. Kellar, 85, passed away Friday, Nov. 7, 2014 in Chicago.
Kenneth was born on April 1, 1929, in Rolla, the son of the late Forrest and Leona Kellar.
He was the youngest of three brothers, Harry and James being his older brothers, and one older sister, Ruth, all of blessed memory.
On Feb. 25, 1950, he was united in marriage to Betty Ruth Bagby and lived in St. Louis, for a few years before moving to Mountlake Terrace, Wash., and then moving back to Jefferson City in 1964.
Ken worked for Sherwin Williams paint company for many years before starting his own company, Beautiful Home Interiors. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his children and grandchildren and was a dedicated Sunday School teacher for many years.
Ken and Betty were faithful members of two Baptist congregations in Jefferson City, Memorial Baptist and First Baptist Church. They lived for many years with their children on Oakridge Road, just south of Jefferson City.
He is survived by four children, Steve Kellar and wife, Debra, of Chicago, Scott and wife, Christy, of Chicago, Susan Wright and husband, Tom, of Lee’s Summit, Dan Kellar and wife, Chris, of Columbia; and 11 grandchildren, Sarah, Danielle, Ruth, Kaleb, Shelby, Connor, Mary, Cassidy, Sofie, Claire, and Caelen.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Betty, who fell asleep in The Lord on Feb. 29, 2012; and a son, David Kellar, survived by wife and beloved daughter-in-law, Chieko Kellar.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 15, at Parker Funeral Service in Columbia, with visitation beginning at 10 a.m.
