This is probably the Confederate soldier shown in the Stout Confederate Hospital records as E. B. Foster who enlisted as a private in Company D, 36th (Broyles) Georgia Infantry Regiment. He enlisted in March 1862 at Etowah, Bartow County) Georgia.

It should be noted that his Confederate Compiled Service Record several times show his first name to be Edward but his parole form within this record shows his actual signature as "Edmon B Foster". He had been captured at Vicksburg, Miss on July 4, 1863 and he was paroled on July 9, 1863.

Hospital records for the Stout Confederate Hospital at Madison, Georgia show that he was admitted May 18, 1864 and died at this hospital on June 6, 1864. It is believed that he is buried in the Confederate section of the Madison Historic Cemetery at Madison, Georgia.

Family genealogists routinely show his name as Edmond but perhaps it was actually Edmon.

It appears he was married to Vesta Jane Barnett.
