Troy Alton Holder


Troy Alton Holder, 77, of Dawson passed away Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2003, at a Groesbeck nursing center.


Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Wade Funeral Home. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Liberty Hill Cemetery near Dawson with Mr. Robert Holder officiating.


Mr. Holder was born Jan. 6, 1926, in Abilene, where he was raised and attended Hardin-Simmons University. He worked as a line and equipment technician for AT&T and Southwestern Bell for 34 years before he retired in 1980. Troy later worked as a realtor with Clyde Johnson for 15 years in Navarro County. He was also a "real cowboy." Troy was a World War II veteran, having served as a Seaman 1st Class in the Navy.


Survivors include wife Betty Parrish Holder of Dawson; son LIVING; daughter LIVING; and four grandchildren.
