Helen M. Ness, 51, of 158 S. Second St., Columbia, died Tuesday evening at Lancaster General Hospital after a brief illness.
A homemaker, she formerly worked as a packer at Kahn-Lucas Manufacturing Co., Columbia.
Born in Columbia, she was the daughter of Anna Mae McConnel Ness, with whom she resided, and the late Mervin O. Ness.
Surviving in addition to her mother are a daughter, Connie Ness of Columbia; a son, Robert of Columbia; five grandchildren; two brothers, Mervin, husband of Julie Ness, and Gary, both of Columbia; and four sisters, Judy, wife of Denny Ruth, Patti Ann, wife of William Bearult, Rose Ness and Kathleen Ness, all of Columbia.
A daughter, Phyllis Ness, died before her.
