YOUNG WIFE AND MOTHER DIES OF TUBERCULOSIS

Mrs. Roy Lee of the Milford Neighborhood Died at Her Home at One O’clock Tuesday Morning -- Funeral Services Tuesday Afternoon -- Leaves husband And Four Children, Youngest of Latter Ten Months Old -- Had Suffered Two Years from Tuberculosis -- Ravages of the Disease Had Gone Far Ere the Seat of Her Trouble Was Known - Went to Sanitarium but Progress of Malady could Not Be Stopped -- Sister of Our Townsman, Reed Boles.
-----
Mrs. Roy Lee, 32 years, died at her home, three miles southwest of Milford, at one o’clock Tuesday morning. Funeral services were held at the home, Tuesday afternoon, in charge of Rev. Porter of Jerico. Carl Konantz was director. Interment was in the Howell Cemetery.
Mrs. Lee was a sister of our townsman Reed Boles. She had suffered for two years from tuberculosis. For a year, her trouble seemed obscure to the physicians. It was not until some ten months before her death that it was determined she was suffering from pulmonary tuberculosis. She was at once sent to the sanitarium at Mt. Vernon. Her diagnosis there showed that she was in the latter stages of the disease and there was no hope for her recovery.
She remained three months at the Mt. Vernon resort, gaining weight in a very pronounced manner, but the condition of the lungs did not improve. The patient was able better to resist the disease, however, until about three months before her death, when she suffered a severe stomach attack. Before this final adverse symptom she was able to eat well and to consume large quantities of milk. But from the time her stomach trouble developed, she could eat very little, and from that time the ravages of the malady were rapid and fatal.
Mrs. Lee died in the home where she was born, and where she had spent her life. She leaves her husband and four children. The eldest of the latter is twelve and the youngest is a babe of ten months.
