Roger K. Banks, 86, passed away on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 of a stroke.

Roger was a World War II Veteran, having fought in the Battle of the Bulge. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service and was a licensed Assembly of God minister. Roger was married to the love of his life, Jacqueline in 1949 and they shared 61 years of marriage and many years of ministry together. He attended Sunshine Open Bible Church in Des Moines.

Roger is survived by his sister-in-law, Jeanette Banks of Washington, Iowa; three nieces, Alice Underfer, Philanna Grier and Cindy Morris all of Des Moines; nephew, Sam Watters of Orange, Texas and a host of great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jacqueline (Jackie) Banks; son, Gary Banks; parents, Floyd and Mary Euniece (White) Clayton and two brothers, Loyal and Paul Banks.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at McLaren's Chapel. Private burial will be at Resthaven Cemetery in West Des Moines. Memorial contributions may be directed to Sunshine Open Bible Church, 2130 Easton Blvd., Des Moines, Iowa 50317.

He was loved by so many and will be greatly missed.
