We never knew if you were a boy or a girl, they couldn't tell because you had died inside me and the damage was too great. I wish I would have known to ask them to test your cells so we would have known for sure. Although we have always felt you were a boy so we named you Richard. I wrote this poem before we decided to call you Richard and give you a name. I hope you like it...
On the day i lost you i'd never be the same
I wouldn't get to hold you or give to you a name.
But I want to tell you the agony I feel,
I miss you and I love you.
My heart is hard to heal.
They say that times a healer for wounds both great and small.
My love for you will linger ,
as your short life I recall.
Although the arms that hold you are not your dads or mine.
You are in the best of hands with our great Lord divine.
Lost but never forgotten.till i finally hold you..your Momma forever.
