Mrs. Letitia Lyons Services Today
Franklin, Tenn. – Mrs. Letitia Perkins Lyons, of 4th Ave., S., retired school teacher and member of a pioneer Williamson County family, died yesterday in Williamson County Hospital. Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Franklin Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Clarence D. Slaughter, pastor of Fernsdale Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Mrs. Lyons, a native of Williamson County, was the daughter of the late Henry Ewin and Sallie B. Tansil Perkins. Her father was a Franklin businessman. She attended Franklin public schools and the University of Tennessee. She taught several years in the county school system, most of the time in Brentwood area schools. Her late husband, Tom Lyons Sr., was an employee at the U.S. Post Office in Nashville. He died in 1966. She was a Methodist. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Mary Lyons Mazarakis, Waveland, Miss.; a son, Tom Lyons Jr., Franklin; two sisters, Misses Mary and Sara Perkins, Franklin, and three grandchildren. The following will please serve as honorary pallbearers: Judge John Henderson, S. A. McCoy, Thomas McCall, Henry P. Minton, Robert Faulkner William Adcock, Sam McCord, W. T. Bruce, George B. Potts, Edward Babbitt, Graham Amis, Thomas P. Henderson Jr., Sam Fleming, Charles Sawyer. Active: Tom Reece, Thomas H. Minton, Marion Odon, John L. Smith, Peter Minton, and Pepper Bruce. Interment Mt. Hope Cemetery. Franklin Memorial Chapel, 794-1512.
