Funeral services for Mr. Ramon Adcock, 72, were held Sunday, June 7, 1998 in the Love-Cantrell Funeral Home Chapel. Dr. William Palmiter officiated and interment followed in DeKalb Memorial Gardens.
He died Friday, June 5, 1998 at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville. Mr. Adcock had practiced law in DeKalb County for 48 years. He was a veteran of World War II having served as a crew member on B-29 Bombers. He also served as President of Smithville Chamber of Commerce, Smithville Jaycees, the old Smithville Country Club, was a Board Member of Alexandria Bank and Trust Company, and was a Field Representative and District Campaign Manager for the Late Congressman Joe L. Evins, Representative of State Legislature from DeKalb County. He also served as County Attorney for many years.
Mr. Adcock is survived by his wife, Helen Evins Adcock, of Smithville; a son: Ken R. Adcock of Jackson, MS; three grand-children: Mary M., John C., and Charles Adcock all of Jackson, MS; mother: Brenda Carter of Chattanooga; one brother: Robert Carter of Woodbury, CT.
Pallbearers were Jimmy Hendrixson, Dub Evins, Barry Hayes, Billy Hendrixson, Donald Sonner, and John Lee Alexander.
Love-Cantrell Funeral Home of Smithville was in charge of arrangements.
