Charles E. Gutke, Jr. "Chuck" age 76 of Powder Springs, GA. died at home July 11, 2015. He was preceded in death by his parents Charles E. Gutke, Sr. and Dorothy Hurd Gutke. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Sandra Ann, his sons, Steven T. Gutke (Mariann) of Palm Harbor Fl. and C. Eric Gutke (Jennifer) of Roswell Ga and his stepdaughter, Michelle Oliver (Tony) of Woodstock and four grandchildren. He was born in Wheaton Il, October 14, 1938. During his youth, he earned his Eagle Scout and graduated from Wheaton High School. He attended the University of Miami where he was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha. During college, he also served in the United States Marine Corp as a helicopter mechanic. After graduation, he worked as a professional water skier at Cypress Gardens in FL. He lived a full life as owner of Cobra Restorers Ltd. for 38 years where he was one of the most knowledgeable experts on classic Cobra automobiles in the world. A real life Walter Mitty, he was a historic race car driver and a small aircraft and helicopter pilot. In 1994, he was honored as the pilot with the most Angel Flight missions in the US. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 16, 2015 at 11:00 at West Cobb Funeral Home, 2480 Macland Rd. Marietta, GA. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Toys for Tots or Angel Flight of Georgia.
