Osie Jacobs Craft, born to Wallace and Effie Akers in Hooker, Oklahoma, on January 1, 1924, passed away July 8, 2006. Beloved mother of Jimmie Lee (his wife, Ruth Jacobs, who was the daughter she never had) and Larry Stephen Jacobs; grandmother of David, Jason, Michael, and Matthew Jacobs and numerous great-grandchildren. Her first husband and the love of her life, Jimmie Earl Jacobs, preceded her in death. Other survivors include her brother, Montie Laverne Akers and sisters, Dolores Johnson and Bessie Boyce, sister-in-law Joan Akers, and numerous nieces and nephews and lifelong friend, Coy Bennett. Visitation will be held at Mish Funeral Home in Oildale on Saturday, July 15th, from 2-5 p.m. Graveside services will be held on Monday, July 17th, 10:00 a.m., at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 3700 River Blvd., Bakersfield. Jim and Ruth would like to express their sincere gratitude to Dr. Vincent Maddela for his personal and professional care and a special thanks to the staff, nurses and caregivers at Emmanuel Parkview Convalescent Home for their extraordinary care.
