Robert Lewis Winkler, 91, of Jacksonville, Arkansas passed away Tuesday, January 15, 2008. He was born November 9, 1916 in Memphis, Tennessee to the late Robert R. and Mae F. Fisher Winkler. He was also preceded in death by two wives; Ann Axton Winkler and Jessie Winkler. Robert retired from the U. S. Postal Service and is a life-time member of the Lions Club and a Charter Member of Foxwood Golf Club.
Robert is survived by children; Bob (Beth) Winkler of Jacksonville, and Ritchie (Margie) Winkler of Dothan, AL, grandchildren; Joe (Pam) Winkler of Ovidia, FL, Ross (Erin) Winkler of England, AR, Lisa (Vernon) Gist of Wynne, AR, Debra (Barrett) Bocklage of Jacksonville, FL, Stephen (Becky) Winkler of England, AR, Mark Winkler, and Dan Winkler of Dothan, AL, and Leslie Long of Birmingham, AL, Elizabeth Cherry Pannell, Katherine Cherry, Chad Cherry, Natasha Cherry and Justin Cherry great-grandchildren; Chase Gist, Farrah Winkler, Joe Winkler, Jr., Rachel Winkler, Rebecca, Baxley, Bailey, and Jett Winkler, Brock and Brenon Gist, Barrett, Ross and Peyton, Bocklage, Ryan, Michael and Nicholas Winn, and Mackenzie Long, Jonah Esworthy, Evan Esworthy, Leo Esworthy and Mason Brown as well as, great-great-granddaughter, Emily Banks.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 18, 2008 at Chapel Hill Baptist Church on Madden Road in Jacksonville. Interment will follow in Rest Hills Memorial Park in North Little Rock. Visitation will be 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., Thursday at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Arkansas Children Hospital Oncology Dept.
