Kenneth Wayne Brooks, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather passed away on Sunday, July 12, 2015, at home surrounded by his wife and daughter. He was born on July 1, 1937, in Henefer, Utah, a son of Veda Lucy and Jimmy Wayne Brooks. Ken graduated from North Summit High School, Coalville, Utah. He served an LDS Western States Mission. Upon returning he attended Weber State College.

Ken married Marilyn Evans in 1982. They were sealed in the Ogden LDS Temple in 1984.

In 1960, Ken began his 42 year career with the Ogden Police Department. He retired from OPD in 2002. Afterwards he worked security at McKay Dee Hospital for seven years.

Ken is survived by his wife, Marilyn, Washington Terrace, UT; and his four children, Rhett (Lynette) Brooks, Sandy, UT; Marian Stock, Layton, UT; Brenda (Johnny) Duran, Oceanside, CA; and Jean-Anne (Michael) Butler, Draper, UT; nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; three brothers and one sister, Jimmy Brooks, Henefer, UT; Marlin Brooks, Milton, UT; Lee Brooks, Pensacola, FL; and Eva Bradford, Spanish Fork, UT.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Richard Evans; and son-in-law, Duane Stock.

Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
