Services for James Leo Ashburn, 90, were held Feb. 23 at Love-Cantrell Chapel. Tim Woodward and Dan Gulley officiated.
Mr. Ashburn passed away Feb. 21 at Baptist DeKalb Hospital.
A native of Silver Point, Putnam County, he was the son of the late Lester Jessie Lee and Caroline Prentice Ashburn.

He was preceded in death by his son, Joe Phillip Ashburn. He was owner of Ashburn Realty Co., a member of the Smithville Church of Christ and Chamber of Commerce and chairman of the Board of DeKalb Utility District.

Surviving are his wife, Zora Cantrell Ashburn of Smithville; sons, Jimmy Johnson of New Mexico, Mark and Grant Ashburn of Smithville; daughters, Carolyn Saddler and Judy Close, both of Smithville; a brother, Roy Ashburn of Florida; sisters, Maude Fisher of Arizona and Lula Garcia of Florida; 10 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Love-Cantrell Funeral Home of Smithville was in charge of arrangements.
