Rev. A. Donald MacLeod SAINT JOHN, NB - Reverend A. Donald MacLeod, son of the late Norman Phillip and Sadie Elizabeth (Smith) MacLeod, born January 6, 1913 in Saint John passed away Tuesday, February 8, 2000 at the Dr. V.A. Snow Centre, Hampton. Rev. MacLeod was married to Hope Edith (Crabtree) September 16, 1942 by her brother the Reverend Clifford Crabtree. Donald graduated from Saint John High School in 1930; attended Acadia University, graduating in 1935 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree and later attended Moncton University, graduating in 1974 with a Bachelor of Education with French Language designation. Donald was saved in April 1930 and baptized in the Holy Ghost January 26, 1931. After his graduation from Acadia in 1935 he pastored at Shediac Baptist Church from 1935-37. In 1937 he pitched a tent at Point du Chene and held revival and in 1938 built a church there. From 1938-1946 he pastored at Killams Mills Church. In the fall of 1943 Donald and Cyril Douthright opened meetings in Port Elgin and established a church there. In 1946 he returned to Point du Chene again for meetings. From 1948-1953 he pastored at Moncton establishing Bethel Full Gospel Church. From 1963 to 1976 he pastored in Port Elgin and taught school in Rexton, Richibucto and Moncton High School. Rev. MacLeod is survived by his daughter, Ruth MacLeod-Day; two grandsons; three great grandchildren; several cousins. He was predeceased by his wife, Hope Edith in 1993. Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) from where the service will be held on Thursday, February 10, 2000 at 2 p.m. Interment to take place in the spring at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visiting on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Donations to the Dr. V.A. Snow Founêaion Inc. would be appreciated.
