He, and Michael Dickson (Relation uncertain) joined a group of neighbors who were moving from Duplin County, North Carolina, to St. Matthews Parish, Georgia (Effingham County) They settled near present day Rocky Ford, Georgia, on the Ogeechee River, in present day Screven County, Georgia.
Lt. Robert Dickson died in the American Revolution, in a conflict with Tories. The date of death is from DAR records.
