Sandra retired in 2008 after 21 years from the Town of Windsor Locks WPCF where she was employed as office manager. She was a member of the Suffield Senior Center and was an active member of the senior's WII bowling team. She was also very active with the local Special Olympics and her granddaughter. Sandy was a faithful parishioner of St. Mary Church. She enjoyed bowling in the Knight of Columbus Bowling league and playing BINGO, but spending time with her grandchildren brought her the greatest joy.
In addition to her husband, with whom she was together with for 60 years, 53 of them married, she is also survived by two children, her eight beloved grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Sandra was predeceased by two brothers, Allie "Buster"Bacon, Jr. and Robert Bacon and two sisters, Hazel Sanchez and Eva Bacon.
Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family on Monday, July 13, 2015, from 4 PM to 7 PM at the Windsor Locks Funeral Home, 441 Spring St., Windsor Locks. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 14, 2015, at 10 AM at St. Mary Church, 42 Spring St., Windsor Locks. (Please meet at the church). Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Special Olympics CT, 2666 State St., St#1, Hampden, CT 06517 (Please make note that you want it to be applied to the local Windsor Locks chapter).
