She was born May 31, 1915, at Eudora, the daughter of Lorenz and Mary (Schehrer) Speicher. She attended school at Vinland.

She married Lester P. Brubaker Aug. 4, 1936, at Reno. He died June 17, 1986. They owned several businesses in the area.

Survivors include one daughter, Joan Christian, Baldwin City; two grandsons and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one daughter, Barbara Jean Brubaker, six sisters and seven brothers
