INDIAN TRAIL - Mr. Gillis passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 11, 2015. He was 84 years old. Born September 17, 1930, in Charlotte, he was a son of the late Farris and Pearl Gillis.
He was preceded in death by his wife Martha T. Gillis; daughter, Joyce Ann Huneycutt and sister Joan Helms.
Survived by his children, T. Gillis, Jr. (Leisa), Sandra Crews (Randy), Lynn Gillis, Donna Bass (Mike), and Patty Wise (David); 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and brother, Dale Ivan Gillis (Mary).
Funeral service will be held at two o'clock in the afternoon on Tuesday, the 14th of July at Sardis Baptist Church in Indian Trail with a visitation held one hour prior to the service.
Interment to follow in Sharon Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be sent to Lake Monroe Group Home, 1708 Lake Monroe Dr., Monroe, NC 28112.
