Catherine was the daughter of Veronica Stuckey, who came from Alsace. She also had a sister named Caroline Stuckey. In 1875 their mother married widower John Overholt in Allen County, Indiana.
On June 10, 1884 Catherine married Joseph Wagler, son of John S. and Magdalena (Christner) Wagler. In 1902 Joseph was ordained a minister. Eleven children were born to this union.
Catherine died March 6, 1919, the sixth and final victim of the influenza epidemic among the Amish in Daviess County. Her daughter Caroline and two grandchildren also died about the same time, as did Noah Wagler, her nephew.
