James was 1st married to Charlotte "Lottie" Rogers (Abt 1771 in Ninety-Six District, SC. - Abt 1791 in Laurens Co., SC.) the married 1788 in Laurens Co., SC. They had one daughter Charlotte "Lottie" Odell (25 Sep 1789 in SC. -28 Dec 1869 in IL. Young Lottie married John Doane the 28 Dec 1809 in Clark Co., IN., (now Wayne Co.) After John's wife died abt 1791 he then married Sarah Martindale aft 1791 (she would havr been 17) They did not have a child until 1797 so they may have married later. They had 11 children.
