Janet Sue “Jan” Stevens, 65, of Meriden, KS passed away Friday, July 10, 2015 at St. Francis Hospital in Topeka. She was born May 10, 1950 in Holton, KS the daughter of Paul H. and Angela “Beth” Bohannon.

Jan graduated from Holton High School in 1968 and Clarks Business School in Topeka.

Jan spent a majority of her career as an accountant for the Kansas Department of Health and Environment. She retired after 30 years in 2005. After retirement, she also worked for Meriden Home Healthcare and Dollar Wise. Jan was currently working for Byte Em’ Snax also in Meriden.

Jan was a life member and past president of Meriden VFW Post #10815 Ladies Auxiliary; she was life member and past treasurer of Topeka Bowhunters Club and past member and treasurer of Jeff West Booster Club.

Jan married William “Bill” Stevens on January 8, 1981 in Topeka. He survives of the home. Other survivors include 2 daughters Donelle and Windy ; 2 grandchildren; 2 sisters, Connie and Nancy; a brother, Paul; sister-in-laws, Judy Stevens and Clara Ann Lovvorn and numerous aunts, uncles, cousin, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Beth Bohannon.

Celebration of Jan’s Life will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will follow in the Meriden Cemetery. Family will greet friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening. In lieu of flowers the family request donations may be made to the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Holton Post #1367, Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Meriden Post #10815 or First Christian Church Disciples of Christ of Holton c/o Mercer Funeral Home, P.O. Box 270, Holton, KS 66436.
