Jack N. Alderton passed away Saturday, Feb. 26, 1983 at Frankenmuth Convalescent Center. Age 66 years. He was born April 16, 1916, in Saginaw and had been a lifelong resident. He married Dorothy V. Franz Dec. 11, 1943, in Saginaw. She survives him. He was a veteran of World War II and was recipient of the Silver Star, two Bronze Stars and the Purple Heart. He was also a member of the V. F.W. Post No. 1566 and of St. Stephen's Catholic Church. Surviving besides his wife are two sons, John Michael Alderton and Dean Francis Alderton, both of Saginaw; one granddaughter, Shannon Marie Alderton, at home: three brothers, Charles Alderton, Linwood; Adelbert Alderton, Bay City; William Alderton, Saginaw; many nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will take place 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Cederberg Funeral Home, 10:00 a.m. at St. Stephen's Catholic Church. Rev. Msgr. Thomas R. Horton and Rev. Robert W. Shine will officiate with burial in St. Andrew's Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7:00 p.m. Monday where they will meet with relatives at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday for a prayer service. The family will be present from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Monday, 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Multiple Sclerosis Society or St. Mary's Hospital Building Fund.
