He 1st married his cousin Sarah Simpson the daughter of his mother's brother, Roger Simpson, they had two sons, John Dixon Boswell and James Thomas Boswell. When Sarah died, he remarried to Elizabeth Pully the daughter of James Pully and Lucy Moss.
They moved to Robinsonville, Gibson Co, TN, which became part of Crockett Co, TN in the Quincy Area.
They had the following children : Lucy Catherine Avery, Charles A Boswell, Margaret Holland, Napoleon B Boswell and John C B " Doc" Boswell.
