She was married to Harm L. Redenius in the year 1881. Nine children were born to them, all of whom are still living.
For thirty-two years, the deceased lived on the homestead in Greene township from whence she moved to Benson in 1913.
Her husband preceded her into eternity, being called from this life in 1908.
It has always been her good fortune to enjoy fair health until a year ago, when she suddenly became very ill, so that it certainly seemed as if she would pass away then. However, God saw fit to prolong her span of life another year, and she took a turn for the better. On Tuesday before Christmas she was persuaded by her children to live with her son, Wait, since it was no longer convenient for her to remain alone.
Her days were already numbered, and she was more feeble than she imagined. A week later, on Tuesday Dec. 27, she suddenly became worse, and at 3 o'clock Wednesday morning she breathed her last. Her age was 65 years, 6 months and 8 days.
Nine children mourn her absence; Herman, of Rochelle; Dick, of Benson; Wilk, of Peoria; Mrs. Gertje Hanson, of Danforth; Mrs. Margaretha Decker, of Minonk; Mrs. Hilke Meinhold, Wait, John and Mrs. Ida Fischer, of Benson.
She is further survived by 20 grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. M. Warnke [should be Warnkes] of Benson.
Funeral services were held Monday, with interment in St Peter's cemetery, Rev. J. W. Hefermann speaking in German and Rev. Fred Seifert in English.
