YORK Paul A. Gallagher, 88, entered into rest Tuesday, July 7, 2015, at Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Erla M. (Diehl) Gallagher for 67 years. Visitation will be 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Church, 2935 Kingston Road. The Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. at the church with the Rev. Steve Fernandes OFM Cap. as celebrant. Burial will be in Holy Saviour Cemetery. The John W. Keffer Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc., East York, is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Gallagher was born April 29, 1927, in Gallitzin, a son of the late Benjamin Ferdinand and Cecelia Melinda (Gailey) Gallagher. He graduated in 1945 from Cresson High School and attended St. Francis College in Loretto. He had been employed at Hamilton Watch in Lancaster, Swiss Automatics in York, Standard Register in York and as a machinist with Caterpillar in York. Paul was a Corporal in the U.S. Army Air Corps., serving during WWII. He was a member of St. Joseph Church and the Knights of Columbus. Paul is survived by his wife and 12 children, Stephanie M. Gallagher, Lynn M. Maher and her husband John T., Eloise M. Schoch and her husband Ernest III, Paulette M. Flemmens and her husband Richard F., Philip M. Gallagher and his wife Deborah J., Brian J. Gallagher and his wife Deborah K., Ellen M. Gallagher and her husband Ronald L. Lehr, Bernadette M. Dailey and her husband Randy, Mark G. Gallagher, Marie G. Fisher and her husband James D., Lisa M. Bresser and her husband Gregory, Sean F. Gallagher and his wife Jeanine K.; 28 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by four sisters, Irene Sylvester, Alice (Dolly) Boston, Mary Gallagher, and Theresa K Gallagher; son-in-law, Jan H. Garry; and is survived by a sister, Rita Gall of Manchester, and a brother Clarence "Sonny" Gallagher of York Haven.
