SANTA FE - Mr. David L. Hansmire passed from this life Friday, May 3, 2002, at his home.

Born December 6,1945, in Tacoma, Washington, Mr. Hansmire had been a resident of Galveston county most of his life, spending the last 18 years in Santa Fe. He was a professor of Geology and Math at College of the Mainland for 25 years and had also taught math at La Marque
High School for eight years.

Mr. Hansmire was a member of Faith Lutheran Church where he had served on the church council and as a youth sponsor, had coached girl's Softball in Santa Fe, was active in the pit crew for the Santa Fe High School Marching Band and enjoyed helping with soccer. He was an advisor for Phi Theta Kappa at College of the Mainland, an alumni of St. Marys University and had served on the Santa Fe ISD Board of Trustees.

Survivors include his wife of over 32 years, Sue Hansmire of Santa Fe; daughter, Lauren Hansmire, of Richardson;
son, Matthew David Hansmire, of Santa Fe; brother, Frank Rodriguez, of Washington, Illinois, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted 10:00 a.m. Monday, May 6, 2002, at Faith Lutheran Church in Dickinson with Pastor Mike Button officiating. A private cremation will be conducted under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home.
Friends may call from 5 - 8 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home, 10412 Highway 6, (409) 925-3501.

Those who wish may make memorials in the form of donations to the Dave Hansmire Scholarship Fund
