Elma Imogene Bain, 89, of Broken Bow, passed away July 7, 2015 at Idabel. She was born May 29, 1926 in Idabel, the daughter of Thomas Elmer and Lena Bell (Hunt) Bolin.

Imogene had lived in McCurtain County all of her life and was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene. She had worked as a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell in Idabel. She then worked several years as a substitute teacher. She loved music, playing the piano and growing African violets. Imogene was an avid Dallas Cowboy and Oklahoma City Thunder fan. She and John Bain were united in marriage on January 6, 1951 in Idabel.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a sister, Lucille McMurtry. She leaves to cherish her memory her sons, Johnny Bain and Doug Bain both of Broken Bow; niece, Floydean Shoemate and husband Jack of Pawhuska; nephew, Elmer McMurty of Durant; sister-in-law, Betty Bain of Broken Bow; nieces, Susie Morton and husband Don of Coweta and Cathy Vinson and husband Lucky of Broken Bow and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be held Friday, July 10, 2015 at 10 am at the Bunch-Singleton Funeral Home Chapel with Eugene McCurley and Doug Henkel officiating. Interment will follow at Broken Bow Cemetery.
