She was currently a member of the Trinity Wesleyan Church, and had been a former member of Memorial Presbyterian Church and the Salvation Army, where she played the piano for many years. Donna was a volunteer at the MidMichigan Medical Center for over 20 years, and enjoyed watching Midland High School baseball and football games.
She is survived by her son, Ernie Golden of Midland; her sister, Carol (Allen) Veenkant of Freeland; nieces, Jen Wilcox and Mary Frantz; and by many caring members of the Roger Elliott family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, August Golden on Sept. 29, 1992; and by her brothers, Ernest Petrie, Jr. and Robert Petrie.
Funeral services for Donna will take place 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 7, 2015, from the Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral Chapel, 1200 West Wheeler Street, with Pastor Luke Hanson of Trinity Wesleyan Church officiating. Interment will follow in Larkin Township Cemetery. Donna's family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday morning, from 9 a.m. until time of the service. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the MidMichigan Medical Center-Pediatric Wing or the Epilepsy Foundation of Michigan.
