Notes on burial in Mt. Hope Cemetery: Record of Interment, page 22, Woodland Mound (early name for cemetery). Section 23, Lot 8. Her husband, Hugh Fanning, bought the plot for $20.00. On May 31, 1901 the plot was transferred to Mary P. O'Connor. On Sept 23, 1905 the south half was sold to John Ralston for $15.00. He and his wife Sybil are buried on the south half of the plot. Eliza has no stone. Eliza is listed as being 34 at the time of her death. She died of consumption. (In 2003, her 2nd great granddaughter, Ann Beckler Borreson, purchased a stone for her and had it placed on her lot. Since Ann is the only one to claim her lot, her family is free to use the lot for later burials). Ann's sister and husband, Kathryn and Raymond Johnson were buried on the 2 remaining spaces.
