Francis Warren Green, age 91 years of Niles, Michigan died at 7:15 a.m. on Sunday, July 5, 2015 at Brentwood of Niles.

He was born on January 11, 1924 in Kendall, Michigan to Steven and Daisy Mae (Hoover) Green. He graduated from Gobles High School in 1941 and attended Western Michigan University for four years. He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army as a Veteran of World War II. In 1963 he moved from Plainwell, Michigan to Niles where he was employed as an Architectural Engineer for the former Niles plant of the Kawneer company, and later for Schaffner and Associates in South Bend.

Francis was a member of the Monday Night Running Club and the Studebaker Drivers Club. He enjoyed golfing at Hampshire Country Club in Dowagiac, Michigan.

On August 30, 1942, he married the former Jane Forster.

He is survived by his wife, Jane (Forster) Green of Arizona and by their children, Jefri Lyn Pieta of Niles, and Kimberly (& Paul) Chimienti of Grand Rapids, Michigan; grandchildren, Marnie (& Scott) Swanson and Cassandra (& Bradley) Thiel; and great-grandchildren Stephen Swanson, Joshua Thiel, and Shelby Thiel.

Frances was preceded in death by all his siblings, Bonnie Allen, Azel Green, Steven Green, Chester Green, Phillip Green, and Howard Green; and by a son-in-law Joseph Pieta, who died October 6, 1995.

The family of Frances Green will gather for services and committal at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Augusta, Michigan with Full Military Rites.
