DEATH CLAIMS MRS. BROOKS
Mrs. Lula Jordan Brooks, 94, died at 3:35 a.m. Wednesday at The Medical Center after a long illness.
Mrs. Brooks was the widow of Ben T. Brooks, who had a wholesale grocery business here some years ago.
She was born in Fort Valley, Ga., on Feb. 9, 1867, a daughter of the late William G. and Sally Avery Jordan. She had lived in Columbus for 75 years and was a member of St. Luke Methodist church, a life member of St. Luke's Women's Society of Christian Service, and the Sunshine Club.
Survivors are two sons, W. Cliff Brooks of Columbus, and E. Jordan Brooks of Los Angeles; a daughter, Mrs. Adrian Hartog, wife of the Netherland consul in Los Angeles; a sister, Mrs. Joseph Buchanan of Americus; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
